The purpose of this memorandum is to share updates to section 20.2.2 and 20.2.3 of Chapter 16-B of
the Medicare Managed Care Manual on the requirement for dual eligible special needs plans (D-SNPs) to have contracts with state Medicaid agencies under section 1859(f)(3)(D) of the Social Security Act and 42 CFR 422.107.
